Activity Holidays

We can provide activity holidays and short activity breaks in golf, tennis, sea fishing, watersports and day trips to places of interest. Our pamper breaks enable us to specialise in providing an alternative break for 'golf widows' or for those whose partners are involved in other day-time solo activities such as watersports or sea-fishing. Through our holidays, couples are able to pursue separate interests during the day whilst still enjoying a holiday together.

We are also able to provide combined packages of pamper treatments and/or customised activities such as golf, tennis and watersports. Alternatively, we can arrange these activities for partners who do not wish to take advantage of pamper treatments and wish to pursue their own interests during the day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tennis lessons for individuals or groups are available at El Casco throughout the year or we can book courts for guests on any number of days during their holiday. For the more experienced tennis player, we can organise participation in tournaments (2 hr sessions) at another nearby tennis club from 1 April—31 October. Tournaments take place on most days and the fee of 10€ includes mineral water, drinks and snacks.

Golf Holidays
There are seven golf courses within easy driving distance of El Sanctuario:

· Santa Clara Golf (5 mins)

· Golf Rio Real (5 mins)            

· The Golf Club Marbella (5 mins) 

· Santa Maria Golf (10 mins)  9 holes,

· Cabopino Golf (10 mins)

· Artola Golf (10 mins)  9 holes

· Miraflores Golf (15 mins) Has an excellent golf academy with covered bays, a putting green and mini golf. Offers weekend & five day courses, video analysis, private & group lessons and ladies’ mornings.

· La Cala Golf (20 mins) One of the most reasonably priced courses on the coast. Fees include buggy.

Courses are 18 holes except where indicated.

Distance/travel times shown are an approximation and depend on traffic conditions.

 

All courses are maintained to high standards, have excellent clubhouse facilities and a variety of supporting options. Guests may choose to play at one or more of the courses for any number of days during their holiday. Bookings are made through a reputable golf agency who has negotiated competitive rates with the courses concerned. Clubs can be hired through this agency or at the relevant golf clubs.

Day Trips to Places of Interest

 

Operated by a local tour company, these trips cover Gibraltar, Ronda, Granada, Cordoba, Seville or Tangiers. Guests can incorporate day trips into their pamper break or activity holiday.

 

Gibraltar: Daily trips providing sight-seeing and tour of the rock, St Michael Caves and the famous Barbary Apes reserve. Opportunities for duty-free shopping. (Except Sundays)

 

Ronda : Sight-seeing tour enabling guests to visit the spectacular Tajo Gorge, Ronda’s cathedral, the Old Quarter, and the oldest bull-ring in Spain.  Includes optional lunch. (Tues, Thurs, Sat)

Cordoba: Capital of the Moorish kingdom for three centuries. Includes a tour of the Mezquita (Arab Mosque), the ancient winding streets of the Jewish quarter & Synagogue, and the Roman bridge. Optional lunch followed by sight-seeing tour of beautiful plant-filled patios and gardens. (Thurs)

 

Granada: The historic capital of the last Moorish kingdom. Includes visits to the world famous Alhambra Palace, Charles V Palace with its beautiful Generalife gardens and free time to explore the city. (Tues, Weds, Fri)

 

 

Seville: Full sight-seeing tour of this beautiful city including the Cathedral, Santa Cruz quarter, Maria Luisa Park, Avenue of Palm Trees. Optional lunch and free time in the afternoon to explore the city. (Weds, Fri)

 

Tangiers: Travel by coach and high speed ferry. Includes panoramic view of the city, walking tour of the Medina (old quarter) and a visit to a typical ‘Bazaar’ for shopping. Lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. (Tues-Sat)

 

Please note that the days of the week on which the tours are provided, may be subject to change at intervals. If you are interested in any of the above day tours, please contact us to ensure that your holiday dates will include the relevant day.

Other Activities
Through local companies, we are also able to offer other activities which are booked by us and paid for by guests in euros directly to the companies involved.

These include:

· Sea fishing (individual or group). Prebooking may be required

· Jeep safaris (group) Prebooking may be required.

 

Watersports are available on the local beach throughout the day from June to September and do not need to be prebooked in advance of the holiday.

Tennis Holidays
There are a number of tennis and sports clubs in the Marbella area which accept non-members.

El Casco Tennis Club with 8 clay and 2 hard courts is within easy walking  distance of the villa.
